I was wondering if a 4.0 GPA is easy to get at your university or easy to maintain. Do alot of students have this or just a few select ones?

No it's not easy! I worked my butt off for a 3.26! Very few people can obtain and maintain a 4.0, especially if taking a full semester's load and/or working while attending.

You start with a 4.0 gpa the minute you walk into your classes. It is up to you to keep it. How much you study and ask questions will determine if you keep the 4.0 or if it falls. Most people who have a 4.0 gpa study up to 20 hours per week and sometimes more. They work hard every day and don't wait until the last minute to read or write a paper. They often spend 2 or more hours a day studying for a variety of subjects. The more you talk to your instructors the more you will understand the material and the more they are willing to help you.

If you want to keep it...then keep focused. Don't let partying or activities prevent you from obtaining your goal.

It really depends on what college you go to and what classes you have to take. For me, it would be hard to get a 4.0 if I have to take alot of foreign language or calc classes. But then, at a community college (or state college, to some extent) it is fairly easy. Also, if you think you wont get an A in a class you can (sometimes) opt for the pass/fail option where it wont effect your GPA.
