Yes, but I don't only wear an apron for cooking. What about laundry ,cleaning , gardening , all those activities require an apron to keep my clothes clean. I wear an apron most of the day, as a "domestic engineer" an apron is like my uniform. I have one on now as I don't see the sense in taking it off for non housework related activities,I would need to put it back on later anyway. If I am doing something really grotty like cleaning the oven or scrubbing oily marks of the garage floor I have a really old and stained apron I wear to keep my apron clean. An apron for an apron you might say.

Only when my overbearing head Chef Grigor comes to the work area. Grigor was a Russian Border Guard and then the wall fell down and he was forced out of his job.
Grigor has a nasty temper and anyone caught without their apron on is thashed within inches of their lives. Only the possibility of learning Grigor's secret method of making Borscht and Caviar keeps any of us here slaving away in his kitchen.
He prefers to call us "inmates" rather than employees and was recently punished for violating the minimum wage guidelines by only feeding us a watery soup and stale bread for our wages.
