Actually, it's the X1950 XTX in 1024 by 768 and lower, and the 8800 GTX 1280x1024 and higher.

The 8800gtx is the best nvidia has to offer, I'm not sure about ATi though. The nvidia card will set you back at least $600.

here's the problem. what was 'the best' is obsolete within 6 months. and the price will also change big time within that time frame. alot of gamer's prefer nvidia over ati.

the nvidia bfg tech 8800 is best out! nothing beats it..
