I go to a catholic school, and my dad thinks that I'm supposed to dress into one of those suits that take a week to get tailored, even though the admission for one student was $7.50. For a private school, what would be the appropriate attire for a homecoming dance? Unless I know, my dad will keep fussing at me.

The usual attire for this kind of function is formal. If you don't want to spend the money on a suit, try renting a tux.

if the ticket`s only $7.50, i really don`t think it`s necessary to wear formal clothing. i go to a public school, i don`t know if it makes a difference, but my school`s homecoming dance was simple, we just dressed in ordinary clothes. the only dances we dress up for is prom and winter formal .. so yeah.
