It's been my observation that most people are preoccupied with racism and white bashing, religion and Christian bashing, murder and abortion and the rights of the murderer and the promiscuous and no one gives a damn for morals, responsibility, integrity or character. Why is that do you suppose?

That's the whole point, people that do the things that you
mention don't or at least have different concept for morality,
responsibility integrity and character. The lack of these
things lead to the problems associated with racism, religious
bias, and other social issues you mentioned.

Much of the time is stems from below average or average brain power and/or emotional problems.

People of high enough intelligence use reason, reasonable-ness, and a higher form of thinking to form their ideas based on morality, responsibiity, integrity and character. As the bell curve will show, though, the "most people" that you mention are in the fat part of the bell curve, which means they're of average, just below, or just above in intelligence.

The ones who may have higher intelligence but remain narrow-thinkers are the ones who, in spite of their intelligence, lack a certain type of intelligence required for broader thinking when it comes to social/human issues. If people lack well balanced intelligence they usually have in its place emotional imbalance/insecurities.

Most of the hate and violence in the world hails from subjective, magical thinking which breeds feeblemindedness, a feeblemindedness that leads people to fail to rise in times of challenge and inevitable change, and leads them to the desperation of imposing their pet collection of subjective virtues on everyone else as validation for failed, outgrown dogmas. When people are taught how to think lucidly for themselves rather than WHAT to think, there is less hatred and violence. There cannot be decency without freedom. And, there cannot be freedom without the ability to think for oneself.

I think individuals do care about those things. But for some reason "the group" does not. Maybe it's a form of mob mentality.
