The town i live in did a tax assestments on every home and of course my taxes went up.I did not exspect an increase of aextra 250.00 dollars a month!When i looked further into the situation they tax included a 10by15 brick patio.when i brought this to the attention to the tax assessor in my municipality he can,t do anything about it.they have the patio as part of my house !They already got the monies from my morgage company.they cant do anything but pay.This has to be illegal and was wondering who do i go to?Nobody from the council will do anything its on deaf ears.To make it worst i retired 3yrs ago thinking how i could settled back an enjoy.Can somebody give me there honest opinion about this please.

Per month??? For once it might be a GOOD idea to sue the city for excessive taxation... Post some signs in the area to protest the tax levy, and see if you can't find some like-minded citizens to fight beside you. I doubt you're the only one who's been had. How many sq ft is your house, how much land, your state of residence, etc? Call your local newspaper. I'm sure they'd have a field day working up a story like this one!

Contact a lawyer. You usually have 30 days to appeal. That is insane and the lawyer may be able to help.
