I have a Costa Rican Zebra Tarantula. Ive had it for almost 2 years. But this past month and a half it has not eaten anything. At first I thought it was getting ready to molt but it never did. So I tried to heat up the tempture but that did nothing. It is still pretty active but I was just wondering what I should do. Is this normal for them to go with out eating for over a month? Should I change what Im feeding it? I have always fed it crickets. Is it sick or is it dieing? Any one with any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.

I had a Mexican RedLeg for about 10 years, it grew as big as my hand, he was friendly and very active. All I fed him was crickets. Sometimes they can go a while without eating, just try to keep him warm, but not too warm, try to ask a pet shop that sells them what might be happening to your's. It just sounds like he might be molting, sometimes that takes alittle longer, but I would still ask the advice of a pet shop. Also, keep a small dish with a hermit crab sponge with alittle water to keep him hydrated, molting can be a harsh devastating thing for a tarantula. Best wishes to you and your little tarantula. I love them. =)

Not sure about Costa Rica but I suppose a Tarantula is a Tarantula. I was around plenty of them in Haiti and you might want to put a mouse or rat in there and see if that cures the ills.

I know someone who caught a tarantula on vacation, and no matter how hard they try, they can't seem to kill it. They told me they went for three months without feeding it even. It might molt still...

try meal worms. they can get bored with their food. pink mice are another source of food for them but i personally never fed my pink-toed tarantula them since i used to raise mice as pets. is the tank damp enough?
