Power of a monarch... well, that depends.

Is the Monarch the head of the government? Like in England, The Queen is not the head of the givernment, the prime minister is.

The the USA, the President is the Head of the government, but the Congress can over rule the President.

The question really can't be answered without specifying which system you are talking about in each instance. The of a monarch who actually rules is very different than a monarch who is a figure head. And there are democratic monarchies that are even more confusing.

The President of the US has powers very different from the President of other countries. So even comparing the power of one president to another requires a more precise question.

Sorry - but there it is.

Its a completely subjective question. Sometimes nothing sometimes everything it really all depends on the country. Some monarchs are just symbolic figure heads and some are supreme rulers. Some presidents are actually dictators and some have little power compared to their prime minister. You really have to pick 2 specific countries to compare on a case by case basis.
