this may give you an idea of how much it is... the overall budget for 2007 was 2.8 trillion... so that would be about 6 percent (maybe a little more) of the overall 2007 budget...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_budget%2C_2007

6 percent may not sound like much... but it can add up quickly... imagine raising your taxes by 6 perecent to pay for it?

There goes our children's educational future. Where do you think they are going to cut to raise that money?

All this will do is increase our national debt (which is in the trillions, by the way) that is already too high. I never have supported the war, but I still must ask how is spending more money there going to help? We just need to focus on the goal (which I'm really not 100% what it is) and get the troops out of there as fast as possible.

I think that we will find out just how much has changed in Congress due to the Democratic majority. Bush claims to be a Christian, and the bible does say "ask and and you shall receive". If the Bushwacker manages to scam 245 more billion for his war profiteering big business buddies, it wouldn't suprise me in the least. You can bet only a tiny fraction of the money will actually be spend on what it was alloted for.

I've read that the war will come close to costing One Trillion dollars.
It seems that most people want to joke about it. The way I see it is what could we do with the money here in our own country? I'd like to see all the bad roads fixed, trees planted and other things to make our nieghborhoods beautiful. There are many things that we could do to make our lives safer and better.

It's really sad that billions of dollars are being used like this. There are so many people in our own country that could use this money. Like for health care, jobs, etc.. It just really bugs me when game shows give away thousands of dollars when the money could be spent in a much better way.

Could he pay all the people in Iraq to just stop fighting? I am not sure what the currency conversion is to Iraq money...but I am sure that could buy a lot of peace..at least til the money was gone...but then we could print some more...(that IS how it works isn't it?)

First. we are going to close all the well-known public colleges and take the money from guidance. Then we are going to get rid of the Social risk-free practices gadget and take all that funds. Then we are going to drill for oil in all the plant existence and fauna preserves and raise the value of gas to $10.00 a gallon. Then, we are going to tax the internet and value $5.00 consistent with digital mail. we are going to make bloggers sign in with the government and value each blogger $a hundred,000 to be a political author. Then we are going to advance taxes on nutrition, potential, outfits and activities.

Bush is a diabolical, egotistical, freakin' maniac who doesn't
have a shred of conscience.
Someone should make him watch the story Diane Sawyer
did on 20/20 about Camden, New Jersey. It says alot about
how he ignores what's going on in his own backyard.
Shame.
