if u go to start, then you go to all programs, then you go to accesories,then u go to communications and u will see " remote desktop connection and i dont know what is than can anybody tell me what is that 4?

oh im using windows Xp

It's use to login to another computer.

It doesn't remote control the system, it actually logs you in and allows you to access all the programs installed on it.

Ok so I just read your last post and responded and now I see you posted this as well. Even if the other computer did have remote desktop enabled, you are going to need to have a username and password to access the system. To turn on remote desktop, do the following. 1. Right Click on My Computer 2. Click on properties 3. go to the remote tab 4. under Remote Desktop, make sure the box labeled "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" is checked. If you do not have a user account, you will need to create one and give the account remote logon access. I will refer back to your other question and my answer, buy a firewall and be done with your issues.

Remote Desktop connection is used to take the desktop of the other computer on your computer.

Remote desktop is if you want to control your computer through a remote pc. So say you use the computer at the library, you can actually use your home computer through remote desktop.

If you have the ip address of another computer you can get access to control their desktop. Provided you have everything set up correctly on both ends.

Its for connecting to another computer.
If another computer is set up as the server side you are able to use rdp to connect to that box. You are then able to use that computer through yours as if you were sitting in front of the server computer.

it is a connection somebody from another computer has to your computer...In other words it is a way to invite somebody into your computer, usually in order to fix a problem you are having. I would never do it though lol
