I don't have a typewriter. I got the app straight from the institurion ( they don't have online apps.) Does anyone know how I could transfer the app somehow to my computer so I could fill it out there? I tried scanning it and then transferring it to another program where I thought I could use the Text button. But I was having a hard time and I got irritated. Can anyone help?

OCR will most likely drastically change the appearance of the application.

The best way to do this would be to take the scanned image and convert to PDF. Then use the form feature in Adobe Acrobat to create fields in the documents where you can add text and checkmarks.

Email me the scanned image and I will make it possible for you to type in it.

If you can scan the application into a PDF document, then I would suggest buying a package called PDFill (see link below). I use it a lot to fill in forms that I've scanned into PDF.

For $20, it allows you to edit PDF files, but it also gives you a lot of useful PDF manipulating tools, like a utility to merge PDF documents together, rotate pages, split apart PDF pages into separate documents, etc. Also comes with PDF Writer, which will allow you to create PDF documents from your word processor, spreadsheet, or anything else you could normally sent to a printer.

You cannot create editable forms in a PDF document using the Free Adobe Acrobat Reader. You would need to purchase the Adobe Acrobat Professional (starting at $449).

Yes, you can with some scanners. Some scanners ask you what you want to scan to (ie File, Email, Copy etc.) look to see if you can scan to MS Word. This way you can edit the document. Some scanners use OCR, which when scanned it trys to reconized each word. This may be helpfull, but alot more work.
