penetrating grease, pliers.
or
blow torch (to heat up around the lug) then pliers
or
hammer tap lug gently (helps loosen) then pliers
try one or all three until you get results

Is the the head of the nut damaged and can't get the socket to grab it or are the threads stripped and it just spins???
If the threads are stripped and it just spins you can try to keep pressure on it(as if you were trying to pull the rim off) and spin it, it should grab and start to spin off.
If the head is damaged you can probably use the next size socket down and hammer it on...you may have to go to a metric or standard and 12 point socket to do this.
If it is a chrome plated nut you way be able to work the damaged chrome cover off exposing the metal nut under it and find the socket to fit it.
If you have access to a welder you could weld a large nut to the damaged nut and remove it this way.
You could try to chisel it loose by chiseling it in the same direction it would spin off.
You could try a nut splitter or buster.
You might have to cut or grind one edge off the nut, it will then be able to spin off easy with a chisel or pliers, or cut the head right off and replace the stud with a new one once the wheel is removed.

well unless it's a benz which if it were you wouldnt have a lug bolt it would just be a bolt but any other car it would be a lug nut. for a lug nut you need a bolt or nut removal set they come with a series of inserts that fit over the nut and have hardened teeth in them sort of like an inside out easy out. so i guess this would be an easy off? lol anyhow you can find them at sears i have a set made by craftsman that should help you get that off with relative ease

You could use either a pair of vise grips or a plumber's pipe wrench. Just be sure you only grab the nut and not the lug, or you'll end up stripping the lug, which is a somewhat costly repair (been there, done that!)

the only way to do it and not damage your rim is to go to the parts house and buy a "Nut Buster" . it is a tool that holds the lug nut and as you turn a bolt on the "buster" ti screws a chisel like point onto the nut spiltting it so you can get it off.
Either that or get a 1/4" die grinder with a cutoff wheel and cut it off that way.

If it is a lug nut you can use a chisel and hammer to cut the nut in half. If it is a lug bolt you will need a cutting torch to cut the head off.

You're gonna need a new stud anyway so spot the nut on the lug and twist er off.

i own a repair shop, and if you have a good air chisel you can cut in to it and get it t break loose this way i had to do two like that ,already on one i was working on,its not a fun job but it can be done without ruining a good wheel, but you have to be patient with it,i sometimes try and ring them off its a lot faster ,but it takes a good breaker bar and a smaller socket to drive on to hem,i have got a few off this way, either way its not no fun at all, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

chisel the nut off and then you will probably end up having to replace the stud and get a new lug nut too, only should cost $4,00 or 5,00 if you fix yourself.
