I believe that ones spirit leaves the body and goes to a waiting place. Waiting for Judgment Day when it will be decided by God who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell.

You stand before the Lord in judgement. Then He'll review your life (you'll have to provide an account for everything you've done), look in the Book of Life for your name, and send you to one of two places: heaven or hell.

See, you'll spend eternity in one of those two places. Heaven is a place of joy and glory, where we are free from the burden of sin and hardship. Hell is a place of eternal guilt and suffering, where you will go if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. God sent Him, His only Son, to die on the cross for all the bad things we have ever done. But He rose again, conquering death because He was sinless! If you believe that, and you ask forgiveness for your sin, you will be saved from sin and hell after you die. God loves you more than anyone or anything ever could, and doesn't want to see another soul go to hell! This is all completely true - I'm not some psycho religion trying to "convert" you or anything. I'm just spreading the good news of salvation (and it's God's job to convert anyway).

Where will YOU choose to spend eternity? Are you willing to sacrifice your earthly life for a perfect, eternal life? Or will you not care and wake up in hell one day, to stay forever with no mercy?

the Holy Bible does tell us some things about death.
in death there is no thought and as such no feeling .
i am aware note aware that angels are totally real as i have seen one.
this makes me wonder if we go straight on to heaven or hell . i don't know the answers .
certainly i suggest that you read the Holy Bible and see what you come to understand.
