Employers are picky as hell. They only want to hire people who like being bent over and without saying a word. I read in a magazine once that hiring managers are now being trained to noticed people with defensive personalities during the interview by asking questions that bother these type of people. One being "I don't understand why you want this job?"

Like I said employers don't like people who are "hard" and know how to defend themselves from abuse whether physical or mental.

One last thought are you single and childless? The reason is that employers don't like to hire people who don't have responsibilities outside themselves. The reason is that they know that if the going gets tough, regardless of the reason, they are more likely to jump ship.

What do you guys think?

I think because of the way the economy is right now, alot of employers realize that they can treat you however they want to treat you. One company I worked for liked to hire people in distressed situations because they knew that they could treat these people any kind of way and they would have to think long and hard about leaving. For example, if someone was a single mother, or someone with a lot of student loan debt, or someone who just bought a house and was let go of their other job. These were easy prey to this company. I am single and childless so when they tried this brainwashing stuff with me( like telling me there are not other jobs that can pay what they were offering me or whatever), I left the company. They hated to see me go, not only because I was a good worker, but also because they could not control me anymore with their tactics. They hated it because they knew I was not as desperate as some of the other people. I was there less than a year, whereas some of the other people were there like 5-7 years. One lady was a single mother with 6 kids, and she had no education, so the boss used to bash her over the head like( i'm paying you more than you can get at anyother job..don't even think that you are going anywhere else). She used to cry all the time at work but she is till sticking it out there because he has brainwashed her into thinking she can not do better elsewhere, and has even made attempts to stop her from going back to school.
The hirers for this company were trained to seek out the life stories of the perspective employee and findout how desperate they were, or how long they were out of work figuring if you were out of work for a long time.. you'd jump through hoops for the low low salary they were offering.
Then if you were hired they'd say well if you work hard you'll get this pay increase or whatever. so people thinking that they would get an increase in a year or whatever, had more kids, o bought a house or whatever. then that year would come up and then the boss would say, nope, nobody gets a raise.after everyone busted their butts all year long. There are some sad employers out there
