In this order, Mercedes, Range Rover, Audi...
Make sure to get an SUV that will have traction-control and
vehicle stability, along with multi-point airbags and ABS...
Why a teen should drive anything at this price level, I don't
know. Teens are inexperienced and have a large chance to
make many mistakes while driving -thus being very expensive
to insure. SUVs are also very dangerous to cars if in a crash.

Trouble is, the best/safest car for a teen won't be an SUV. SUVs are prone to rollovers.
And if you buy your teen a car anywhere NEAR $70,000, you are a tool. Lend them the money and let them pay it back with *gasp* a JOB. They might learn some financial responsibility, and maybe, just maybe, they won't grow up quite so spioled.

What teen gets a $70,000 SUV! All their going to do is not pay attention on the road & kill some innocent motorist like me trying to save gas driving a chevy Cavalier. If u have $70,000 to spend then make you're kid get a job & buy their own first car. When u have to work for what u get; you tend to take alot better care of it. Maybee 10 yrs down the road u buy them something nice & they'll really care for it. Dont always spoil kids, save a life instead.

Sounds like we all agree..the experts too. Middle is the safest in a car. In a van the very back seat is the safest. Some people do put the baby on the passenger side in the back so if they are driving alone and need to reach the baby for some reason they can. I'm mom to 3.

70 grand for a teen. Well SUV's are really just bad cars for anyone that doesn't have kids. They are so unsafe its not even funny and they drink gas like it was water. Get a USED honda or toyota for 5 thousand maybe.

WOW 70000 dollars would buy 35 of my cars. get a honda. Strongly disagree with SUVS, most poeple never use the extra space and they waste gas like mothers. Get a good car like a honda civic. Some diesel VW are good too. If you HAVE to get an suv get a diesel please. btw i got a junked out 1970's beetle and i rebuilt it and i really like it.

$70,000, and an SUV, for a teenager? Daddy, you have rocks in your head. Buy him a 1997 Malibu and if that isn't good enough for him he can walk. Geez, you going to buy him a $500,000 house for a graduation present, too? My first car was $175 and I paid for it myself.

Buy a good used car, like an Accord or Camry, for $10,000 and invest the rest in the education of the Kid.

I think Will got it right. The kid needs to buy his own car. In my highschool, I was one of 3 kids who bought thier own car. I was one of the few who respected it because I had to pay for the car and everything else. I bought a 1987 Plymouth Caravelle (think big K-Car) and I drove the wheels off of it. I had to pay for the car and everything to go with it, insurance, gas, maintance. If there was a problem with it, I delt with it, and it gave me the right to ***** about it. If you have a car given to you, you have no right to complain about any of it. Just don't buy them a car for over $5000CDN. It will get smacked up, and damaged. When I drove that car, I knew the amount of work I had to do to get it, and I had a little asian kid in a Civic (mommy and daddy bought) Rear end me when I was stopped and he was doing 80km/H. My car took the better of it, and his was a write off. He was yelling at me because I distroyed his car. My car was drivable, and his was scrap metal. He wasn't paying attention becasue he was screwing around with his stero. He tried to have me charged with distroying his car but I ended up winning that. His parents were yelling at me too about it. I do not think it is right for parents to buy thier kid a car, there is just not the amount of respect that goes into owning a car otherwise.

I think you have parents that spoil you awful. Got enough money for Insurance? Know they burn an awful lot of gas? To each his own, but I think that is a bit much for a teen.
