I am an old man by most peoples standards but I would fight for the first spot in line.

I have seen a lot of the Earth in my life and at my age I would welcome some variety.

In reality, NASA would never put me on spacecraft. I couldn't pass the physical but that doesn't mean I wouldn't go if given the opportunity.

No way. It would take at least 9 months just to get there, not to mention the time spent there and the trip back. Being on a space ship for that long would be awful, not to mention boring as hell. Who knows if anyone could even survive the trip. I seriously doubt there will ever be a manned ship to Mars for the above reasons and also due to the costs of fuel, food, and supplies. We can get all the information we need from probes that we send there.

Would I want to set foot on Mars? You betcha. Would I want to be on the first human mission there? Heck no. Sitting couped up in a space ship for 8 months with nothing to look at but the same damn stars all the time is not my idea of a good time. At least the ISS crew can look down at the Earth below them (which I've heard never gets old). A trip to Mars would drive me batty.

No. Humans cant survive in space. You will note that trips to the moon a very short. You will also note that the Space Station in NOT in outer space. It is well within the protective covering shield of the Earth.

Definitely. Not just as one of the first people there, but to change a planet would be awesome.
I mean really, outside of this, what difference does it make if we go ther or not ?
In reality, very little.

If I didnt have kids yet, for sure!! I would love the chance to cruise through space. I mean if the resources had been researched and whatnot then why not!

Yes, I think it would be real nice to have the chance to walk on another planet. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity...plus the views are probably spectacular!

No, I'd have about a one out of a hundred million chance of being selected, if that. If my chances were 100 percent, however, I would have to say hell yes.

No! The chances of the first ones coming back would be close to zero!
