Well there are many reasons to chew gum such as bad breath which is a common one. but you can also chew gum to suppress your appetite. But to stop a smoking craving is a possibility. I mean you see on television how some stars chew gum to not smoke or even drink coffee. The chewing of the gum calms down your rush for a cigarette because it sends signals to the brain that tells your body that something is taking the place of the usual cigarette. When you smoke you are constantly puffing, inhaling and exhaling the smoke in a constant pattern. So chewing over and over is the same, it is in a constant pattern. Its sort of like you are tricking your brain.

Not really, though I beleive that some people do. People chew gum for many different reasons and here are some: They want to freshen their breath, they like the taste, they have to chew on something, it could be a habit and some people do it actually because they need to eat more often and gum makes you hungry. People who smoke might chew gum for those reasons too. However, I would also like to add that gum isn't very healthy. Most have artificial colours and all of them have artificial flovour, aspirtamine and tartazine which humans do not need at all. The gums that they say are healthier because they don't have sugar is a lie becuase it may not add fat to your body, but it has fake (artificial) sugar in it and anything fake is not good. It's even worse than sugar and sugar is quite ok to eat daily. It's fine to chew gum once in a while but if you chew gum quite often, you're not doing anything good to your body, in fact, you're damaging it.

When you consider that you are a chain smoker - the addiction would be the hardest section to break. My mom subsequently managed to make it stick this time - its been a year. There's a prescription capsule - zyban? That your general practitioner can prescribe for you. It blocks the nicotine addiction to your brain, and if you do smoke, it's without doubt repulsive. Additionally, fresh oranges, and orange juice, diet c helps to flush the nicotine out of your approach. For the bodily craving part, straws, toothpicks, gum, some thing it takes. My dad used sunflower seeds (already shelled) and would simply bite on it separately until there was once nothing left. Good good fortune - i understand how hard it's. I stop final January. No, not necessarily. I'm a non-smoker and the thought of smoking makes me gag, but I chew gum.
