Hmmm... could possible be a pinched nerve that may be agitated when you are laying down. Are could be a muscle spasm from laying on one side too long.... If it becomes persistent or the pain worsen, you should go see a doctor.

The suggestion of the sciatic nerve involvement is probably very close.

You may have a muscular imbalance that causes this, as one set of muscles is working harder than usual when you are lying down.

This is common, and it also applies when you are awake, bt may not be noticed.

Try a simple solution. Ask a friend/parent to help you with it.

Lie on the floor, on a carpet, preferably, and have the other person pick up your heels and check to see if they exactly match or if one appears to be a bit shorter than the other.

If there is a difference, have them pull the shorter one lightly, while holding your leg at the ankle. Stop after a minute and see if there is a difference or if it looks better. If it is still there do it again, but pull just a bit harder.

Once the heels reach the same length, and match, the other person should grasp BOTH ankles at the same time, and pull lightly.

This may sound a little odd, but it works.

A note of caution...pulling hard is NOT a good idea and never necessary. Quick jerks are just bad. Either of these may cause you pain.

Steady, light, and slow pulling works well.
