in my own case it was almost immediate -i had smoked since age 11 yrs i quit 12/31-03-age 69 then- i used baby carrots cauliflower florets and broccoli florets and the wonderful RANCH Dressing- every time i wanted a smoke i took a veggie dipped it in ranch and in 2 days i had NO cravings at all and i found that if i kept these items nearby i never touched a cigarette and i tell my friends TRY IT ok- i have not smoked since that date --sound silly maybe -but it worked !!!!!!!!

It's actually 72 hous. Nicotine has effects only for 72 hours. After that, the only addiction left is one of habit, not need.

I quit January 1 and after the third day..... I was fine.... Til this day, I haven't had a smoke.... not even a drag of one. I'm proud of myself.... Good luck!

Only about 5 days.....the emotional addiction is much more difficult!
You can do it if you are very determined...do it cold turkey!
