you need more info. strangers can become friends. and strangers r everywhere but don't just go up to a complete stranger, if you attend a church/ school go up to somebody you don't know and introduce yourself, talk about your surrounding like the weather or if you attend the same school, a teacher, if your friendships grows you can talk about more serious things, just don't talk about very serious things at first!

You can join any club that you interested in Japan. Be sure to attend if there is any activity held. Try to put more time with them. Japanese people are very polite and kind. Be their friends worth a lot for you. I've quite number of Japanese friends because I often join the outdoor activity. So now it all depend on you.

Just get involved in things and visit places that interest you. Be open and friendly. In Japan you'll find friends. It's a very hospitable, welcoming country.

Get out ALOT...u cant find friends sittin at home. Depends on what kind of friends you are looking for to choose where to find friends. You can go to church,you can go to clubs,you can go to parenting groups. You can find friends EVERYWHERE

I made many friends in Japan at bars. It is the best place to meet people in Japan because that is where people really loosen up. I've also met some friends online.
