Because the price of the product is arrived at by cost of ingredients and it is the manufactures asking price if you do not wish to pay shop somewhere else. They cannot go back to the barter system and never know what the prospectus may be for sales.

they have there base price that includes certain items but they won't substitute for free or reduce the cost if you don't want it all because they have set profits in mind based on that menu item......just like most places that you go to breakfast you get a plate with eggs, meat, potatos, toast and that is all one price, however if you are like me and don't want the potatoe it would come all as sides which cost more money so I have to get the plate and they end up throwing the potatoes out because I don't eat them!!!

Good question :-) . Maybe the extra 25 cents is to offset the free refills.

Good point. It seems too that hamburgers get smaller every year at McDonalds, I can't believe people still eat there.

Cause they just want to make some extra money. extra cheese, with bacon, their always trying to make a extra penny here or there. it really adds up.
