I have 2 DUI's 1 was 9 years ago and the other was about 5 years ago. I also was caught shoplifting 9 yrs. ago. I want to get a Real Estate license. Will I benifit from this or will I just be wasting my time and money and wil the state of California accept it?

In my state, the priors would not stop you from getting the license. The RE Board could license you and appoint a monitor instead. You cannot get those DUI's expunged. The better thing to do is to take the exam, disclose your priors and submit a statement that you have addressed your alcohol problem. If they then refuse to license you, hire a atty to appeal their decision. Don't assume these past problems will block you. If you submit a statement admitting the occurrences and stating what you have done to address the alcohol issue, you have a better chance of getting the license.

Not sure as to the California laws, but in South Carolina you can only expunge one criminal record. You may want to check on this with a local criminal attorney. Some attorneys give free consultations. Hope this helps.

Check with an attorney to be sure, but it is just about impossible to get a record expunged if you were convicted.

You can request the court seal those records, but I do not think that unless you were a minor when those crimes were committed, they will expunge the records.

Contact a local attorey for a consultation.
