Kids are so wonderful! There love for rescuing the homeless creatures is the way these kids express their want to nuture and care for these helpless creatures. Having said that Pet spiders are not welcome nor are any bugs of any discription.
My question is what are the most bizarre animals or sweetest stories that your kids have bought home wanting to give them a home.
Or what are the funny ones you remember bringing home saying to your parents "Mum & Dad, Can we keep it?"

It was Thanksgiving and I was around 6 years old. For PA it was unusually warm and we were all at my grandmothers house, the kids playing outside. I had heard this weird noise from the back of the house, which has a fenced in yard. I went to see what it was and to my delight! it was a black bear cub. Being that I love bears, I gladly let him in the fence. He was MINE! he followed me like a puppy. All of us kids played for what seemed like hours letting him lick our face and chase us around the yard. We would run in the house and grab cookies and fruit what ever we could get our hands on and we were feeding him. However as with all parents my mother stepped outside to check on our Quietness. She saw what we were playing with and I quickly inquired if I could keep him. She shuffeled us all back into the house and called a local fella who would around this time, display wild animals for people to donate to various charities. He informed her, it wasn't his. I played with the cub thru the glass door and could hardly handle the cries and grunts. (I was still slipping him cookies thru the crack) My mom phoned the game commission. Shortly there after they arrived to inform us the mother was hit and killed about a mile a way on the road. I remember looking up at this tall fella and asking him if I could adopt the little fella. Needless to say, I wasn't allowed to keep him. I gave him a cookie for the road and a bag of grapes to the officer as a care package.

my little cousin once brought home a kitten that had been abandoned. she must have been only days old. we took her to the vet and they said with three broken ribs and only being days old and stuck in the bush by herself for who knows how long her chances were not good. well he was so determined that this little cat make it that he stay up all night with me to feed her, make sure she was warm enough and stroke her to make sure that she felt loved. well she made it and never let him out of her sight when he was at home. she's even started following him to school.

We lived so far in the boonies the critters used to bring my siblings and I home to their mothers!

At one time or another we had red squirrels, possoms, broken-legged, broken-winged birds, turtles, a deer, raccoons...and it seemed we were always hatching out frogs eggs to tad poles, to frogs that managed to escape all over the house.
