Don't worry. When I was pregnant I went a few months without insurance because approval was pending and whatnot. They'll cover it.

As for that one comment, don't let people like that get to you. Everyone thinks they know your situation, but they don't. They always think that anyone on Medicaid shouldn't be having a child. But just because you can't afford to pay the hospital bills doesn't mean you can't afford a child. Hospital bills are ******* expensive! This is what our taxes goes to. If people can't handle that they need to stop their bitching and just move to another country.

Don't worry, most doctors offices when you talk to them will understand. You should be getting a letter pretty soon. They will not pay for veinipuncture, but that is 8 dollars or so. When you do get the bill it will have a code as to why it was not covered. I would call Medicaid office and find out what the hold up is. It's frustrating I went through the same thing. However, they told me if there were any major problems with them paying they would give me a call. As I said all you should have to do is call your office. And to commentto go about not being able to afford our children because we are on it, both me and my hubby work to provide for our child. We are on medicaid because our insurance does not cover squat. We pay for medicaid as well. Think before you say ****. I don't care what other people say, I am going to take care of my child best way we can. Our child has everything he needs. We do not milk the system as most people do not. Granted, there may be some, but for the most part people do not. I don't care if I get thumbs down for this. I am speaking the truth.

just let the office know that you have applied for Medicaid & it will go thru in about 2-3 more weeks. It really shouldn't be a problem since you just received a bill & your Medicaid should be approved before that bill is a month old. Good luck to you!

You can contact your local DFS office (where you signed up for Medicaid) and ask that they include the date that bill was issued. Make sure you contact the hospital and inform them you are waiting for your Medicaid to go through, and also contact Medicaid and ask them if it will be covered. They should take care of it!

Don't pay it, when you do get your Medicaid, it will pay for the previous three months. Make sure you talk to your medicaid tech.

Don't pay it. When you get Medicaid you should have a case worker. Call her/him and talk to them about the bill if it is pregnancy related and you can prove that, they will pay you back bills! I was on medicaid and they paid my back bills for pregnancy related issues!

Once Medicaid approves, they will back cover it from the date you applied. However, call Medicaid and tell them you are pregnant and need the application accelerated, usually when you mark that you're pregnant on your application they automatically do it, but it should take days not weeks. They accelerated mine when I was pregnant, it took like 5 days.

no stress, medicaid will cover back 3 months, if you want you can call them and let them know your medicaid is pending.

How about not getting pregnant if you can't afford to pay for it? I totally resent having to pay for another poverty brat. I paid for my own, you pay for yours. You couldn't wait a few days until a $10 urine test would read positive?
