Yeah i think it does matter. I am really interested in the size zero debate because i am a naturally skinny person .. docs cant find anything rong with me even tho im classed as underweight... what about the models like this who seriously cannot put on weight? I think these girls should be able to go on the catwalk sure ..but not the ones starving themselfs no way hosey! But i definitely think that size 12+ models should be on the catwalk. At the end of the day i blame it on the fashion industry for most of the eating disorders happening. We should have all sizes on the catwalk... unless they are starving themselfs !!!

I think it does matter. Personally, I think if a designer is worth their salt, they would be able to make clothes that look great on women. And that is coming from someone who is on a degree in the subject.
The size 0 thing really is pathetic. At the end of the day it all boils down to status, at the moment the rich and famous show their wealth and restraint by being super tiny. The same as centuries ago very curvy women showed this status.
It really does get on my nerves. Women are not made to be that small, they risk infertility, premature aging, organ failure, osteopororis and a frankly very miserable life. (Imagine what it must be like constantly obsessing about your appearance to the point where you are willing to starve yourself?) And for what exactly? You are only here once, this obsession is a waste of time!
And what really upsets me is that so many women are so critical of themselves and get very depressed about their appearance. My nine year old cousin is on a diet because she thinks she has a belly, is really is upsetting.
These celebrities really should take responsibility for what they are doing, it really isn't big or clever.
I think it would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if a designer used larger models to show their collections. And I mean women that are heathily slim, that actually have a bum and breasts to put their dress. They say sex sells, but how can you find a women who resembles a small child sexy?
A confident attitude is the sexiness thing, not how thin you can make yourself, once women learn this we won't be having this debate.
Phew... rant over now!

I really do think so! Lets think about this for a second... You are at a fashion show in Paris.... the shows is beginning to start.. the hottest models wearing the new high end fashion clothier... the first set of models where "model type".... the show was a hit... collection was to die for... Then on to your show... well you decided to pick the "normal women" as models... THE LOOK OF DISGUISED would be upon the Paris market... this would be a for-sure failure decision... your line has failed... why? Because the models where not the "model norm" This has happened before to other up and coming designers... So the question is why? The reason is you cant change the mind of High End Fashion. The skinny will always have the jobs... and the "fats" will always loose. Its just part of the business...

They shouldn't look like famine victims. When models are below the BMI of what would be termed a malnourished person then we have to wonder how sick our society is to view that as attractive. I'd like to see all shapes and sizes on the catwalk, and that includes different heights.

NOT AT ALL! people on the catwalk and sponsering it shouldn't even put size 0 people up on there unless they are 150% sure it is naturall and that they are eating of coarse. People need to see other sizes instead of sickly sticked people. We can't be stereotypical and we need to rize. SHOW HEALTHY DIFFERENT SIZe women.

As long as the person doesn't trip then it's fine...I mean if there is enough room on the catwalk for people to walk on it and twirl and all that good stuff.

No, because let's face it, the catwalk models are not the role models - how many catwalk models can we actually name?

the skinny models dont bother me but i think it would be better to have a mix of sizes...the one thing that gets my goat though is that a lot of the models are only children.that is why they are so skinny, and they are modelling clothes for adults... i think there should be no under 16's on catwalks unless they are modelling for mothercare!!
