I am not a doctor, but when my daughter went to college last year, my period was irregular and often because I was so stressed with the entire situation. My doctor advised me that stress can cause periods to be more frequent, heavy or even not at all in some cases.

I've lost 15 pounds in the past 4 months because my husband's little drinking and anger problem have stressed me out so much(also gained a few pimples here and there, and I'm 21! Didn't have that problem before!!) Severe stress can do a lot of crazy things to you. P.S. - I'm leaving next weekend! Just thought I'd share, I'm excited to be getting away from his crazy a**

Stress can cause you to stop menstruating. Stress causes ulcers, herpes breakouts all sorts of physical ways that stress manifests itself. In fact some researchers are now looking into the possibility of stress being the mitigating factor in why some people get cancer as opposed to somebody else with the exact same risk factors. 2 periods in 1 month? Sure easy....Mary.

Yes stress can cause you to have your period more that once in the month. Stress is a funny thing. It reacts different ways to different people. When I split from my boyfriend I broke out in a rash and the doctor had to put me on anti-depressant pills and that cleared it up. Maybe to see the doctor and tell him/her what is going on. He/she can help

Stress can do all sorts of nasty things to people's minds and bodies. However, tell her to go to the doctor - she might need to be treated for the stress or maybe there is another medical condition that needs to be managed.

I think stress does the opposite. You skip your periods not have more of them. She should go seek a doctor and see what is wrong. She could have fibroids that cause her to have more then one period. It is nothing serious if she does have that it is very commen actually.

Stress does all kinds of crazy junk to our bodies. But with her age tossed in, she should also look at the possibility of early menopause setting in.
