No just punishment for being stupid and lacking a solid plan of action once the major ground offensive was complete.

Well if that was true, that the American defeat in Iraq is a divine punishment, then who has Bush been listening to? He said God has been telling him what to do..if God isn't telling him what to do...who is?

If divine punishment is the same as self punishment, then YES.

If divine punishment is says that a divine entity is already in control of Iraq, I would have to say NO.

Sadly there is no winners in Iraq. Only losers. Militarily the US is not defeated. Unfortunately they cannot win because there is no "winning". The notion of win and/or lose is not only absurd when it comes to Iraq it is also ludicrous and only very slow minds can even think of it that way.
