It's not a choice. It's just what your body tells you.
Like, throughout middle and high school I never got why all the other guys were so into girls. What was the big deal? I didn't get the appeal at all.
I, on the other hand, tended to notice how handsome and strapping many of these fellows had become! But it would still be several years before I could acknowledge that my appreciation of the male physique was more than a purely aesthetic one.

Where exactly you fit on the Kinsey scale is your call completely.
It's not like people don't slide up and down at different times in their lives.
Whether you have the support around you where your decision will be respected, that's another matter.
Your privacy and what you do in the privacy of your own bedroom is your own business. There is support for you (outside the bar scene) that wasn't there 50 years ago.
Don't be in denial about your feelings. Your true feelings are your say!
If you are married with children the repercussions for coming out of closet are different than being in high school or a single adult.
Surround yourself with people who will respect your choice where ever you land on the Kinsey scale.

The majority of people realize that they're gay/lesbian at a fairly early age. It's not a "choose this over that" situation. It's a feeling that is overwhelming. For myself, I knew at age 6. I couldn't put a name on it until I was a teenager but I absolutely knew.

Some people are 100% gay ,thoughts of having sex with the opposite gender is repulsive. Some people are 100% straight and thoughts of having sex with the same gender is also repulsive. There is from one end to the other end of people. From it's not repulsive but I can imagine me doing it, but have no desire to do it. To people who could have sex with one gender one day and the other gender the next day. But that does not mean any body of the same gender or anybody of the other gender. It means that certain people of both genders turn you on sexually
My self I could go to bed with Nicky Hilton one night and Elijah Woods the next night

Those who are 100% gay only have a sexual attraction to the same sex and the thought of having sexual relations with the opposite sex seems unnatural and disgusting to them. There is no choice, it is just who someone is and who they are attracted to. If you look at people who are left handed, they didn't make a conscious choice one day as to which hand they prefer to use, it's just a natural preference; it's the same thing for gay people and which sex they are attracted to.

I am not sure there is a clear answer for you. Some people just do what feels good and others somehow feel they are gay.
I am streight, so I've not had those feelings, but I also have friends and close relatives who are gay and they told me they felt gay almost all their lives.
