I asked this question. This is a legitimate question. I think that if we are ever going to be equal, that ALL races should be represented.

Why can all races except for those that are of European descent be able to have organizations to promote their race and their agenda, but European-Americans can not?

Why can the African-Americans, the Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans...and so on a so forth...hell even the people that aren't in this country legally can have an organization represent them, but people that have European ancestry can not?

If we, as a country, are so hell bent on making everyone so equal shouldn't ALL races and ancestries be able to have organizations to represent them?

I liked how, in the initial post, I was automatically labeled as a racist.

If I am a racist for wanting this for, what does that make all the organizations out there for all the other races?

And one more point...

If we, as most minorities like to say, are going to be the minority in the future....shouldn't we get this started?

How is it NOT racism against someone of European descent to deny them employment, NOT based on skill, but only on a quota that must be filled to show proof of diversity?

jokesbyje....

Are you not considered "white". I have Irish anscestry as well. Many Americans do.

And yes, if you take being denied employment because a company is not "diverse enough" so they MUST hire a "minority", then yes...yes I have been discriminated against!

I agree one THOUSAND PERCENT!!! I always got so pissed at my college at the "African American Club" and the "Asian-Inspired Club"....

if I were to ever go out there and open up a "Whites Only" club, I would be KILLED for it!

How can we have all-black colleges, too?? ? How is that possible when they made us open up our all-white schools to the blacks in the first place??!?! Isn't that crazy to anyone else?!

Why should blacks/minorities get more scholarships than an equally (or more so) skilled white person?

It makes me crazy... if you want to be equal, then let's do this! But then don't run away with the idea and then try to be all race-oriented... if the whites can't celebrate their "white-ness" without being called KKK members, then the minorities shouldn't be allowed to have their single-race clubs, groups, organizations, etc etc

I have always been wanting to answer this. I am in no way a racist, and I follow every equality group out there, but you are right. The true issue with "equality" as we know it is not so much being treated equal, but over-compensating for the past. A few Anglos did horrible things to people, including slavery of the Black and Asian people, and the mass slaughtering of the Native-Americans to name a few. So now, to make amends, instead of making it truly equal, we have given more and more to minorities to make up for it. My family never owned slaves, in fact, we were part of the underground railroad, but you'll never see me getting a college scholarship because I am white. I believe that there should be recognition for all races, and do away with race related special treatment. Let school be paid for with good grades, not skin color. It is a fact that at any given time in history, most ever nationality did horrible things to other people. White people enslave Black people, and a long time ago the Hungarians were enslaved by Black people. Race should have nothing to do with anything in this day and age.

Wow. Interesting point. Now let me try to answer.

1. Since European-American descendants are in the majority of every major power branch of society (i.e. law, politics, medicine, etc), how do you, racially, as a European-American, feel under-represented? What rights specifically do you fell are important to your race as a whole that are not being represented?

2. There aren't any organizations like NAACP for European-Americans because no one has started any. If you want to start one, go for it! You can call it the National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP, for short). Nothing is barring you or anyone else from doing so. But I hope you have a platform from which you can call for the protection of European-American values/issues

I think all the organizations promoting their race only are racist. But that's OK we started it when we had slaves, and put people in camps cause we were scarred of them, and ran the indians into the desert. Everything is unfolding as it should, and you're a victim only to your way of thinking about things..Quota or not if you put all your energy into making yourself a more valuable employee and less time blaming outside circumstances then you'd have a job.

Oh yeah and this isn't the first time i've heard it but what is reverse discrimination..shouldn't that be acceptence..or if that's against whites why is it reverse?

the world is screwed up. what can you expect when we try to make every one equal? nothing is perfect and everyone will have a problem with somebody else. they just like to find a reason to justify the way they feel. in time we will be a large minority and then we'll get to have people represent us and tell sad stories bout how we once were the largest race and somehow fell.

I don't think you're a racist, but I do think you're complaining for no real reason. White people (and I am one) don't need an organization like the NAACP. What would we get from such an organization? 42 white presidents in a row? 95 or so white senators? White people at the top of nearly every major business venture in the country?

Unlike women and members of other races, whites have never faced official or unofficial discrimination in this country. You may not like it, but it's a fact.

White people (besides women) haven't been DISCRIMINATED AGAINST?!?!!?

Who are you kidding?!?!

My ancestors are Irish... have you ever read up on how horribly the Irish were treated when they came to America? they couldn't get jobs and were treated like the scum of the earth... I want some payback for that, then!

If black people can say, "hey, that's not fair, b/c my great-great-greatgreat grandmother was a slave and was subject to horrible oppression" and somehow that allows for extra benefits and special treatment...

then I WANT THE SAME!

The problem is that every "white pride" organization currently in the USA bases its ideals on trying to make other races seem inferior.

If there were to be one, it would need to be focused on the accomplishments of ethical white people, instead of being a mob of socially desperate and intellectually retarded people who irrationally hate blacks, jews, hispanics, asians, etc as a scapegoat for their own personal lot in life.

No one ever said you can't be proud of your heritage. They'll just get a bit upset with you if you go the KKK or Aryan way because those organization promote violence as a way to show racial pride.

The American Civil Liberties Union doesn't discriminate when it comes to violations of civil liberties. The represent all people.

And FYI, no such thing as "reverse discrimination." Look up the word "discrimination."
