when you go to the dentist you could take your baby so they get used to it. obviously at 3 months it will be too small to notice much tho. I think children should have their own dentist appointment once they get some teeth.

Unless your pediatrician says there is a need to, your child doesn't need to go to the dentist until about the age of 3. Yes, many dentists will suggest seeing kids at their first birthday, but since babies don't have all their teeth then (my son only had 2 then!) it's not really for a teeth cleaning, but just to get the child used to the dentist. My mom works for a dentist and at my request she asked him when I should take my 2.5 year old son. He said about 3 years or so.

1st visit at 1 year - this gets them used to the dentist. My son had a crown put on at 3, so please don't wait too long. He has very soft enamel, and needs flouride treatments every six months. Can you imagine what your teeth would look like after 3 or 4 years? ugh

you can take your child to the dentist, it allows them to get used to the enviroment and the dentists as well. my son has been visiting the dentist since he was 3mths old and his 1st tooth came in at 7mths, now he sits up and will let any of the my dentist to look in his mouth. now being a dental nurse i have seen children older than my son scream the place down just for a exam

When he has teeth. Seriously, around a year or so is when they recommend a first dentist visit - so they don't get scared when they're older.

You won't need to start taking your child to the dentist until they are at least two years old.
This is what my dentist told me and have of course followed his advice.
He said it's really not worth it until all their milk teeth have developed and are able to sit up onto the dentists chair.
If you're not sure, best to ask. They won't mind.

Call your local dentist and ask at what age do they recommend a child to have his/her first check up. When i called they said when my son was about 4 years old

I think you mean that you need to go see a dentist but you have a three month old and you aren't sure if you should take her.
The answer is no, get someone to watch her while you go to your appointment.
