it is not illeagle to do it but it is bad business. talk to the service mgr. about this and I am sure that they have a spray to put in to the duuctwork to eliminate the offinsive odor from the smoke.
The mech. will be told about it and it won't happen to anyone else . So you are doing them all a favor and saving thier businessat the same time.

That is a toughie. Talk to the mechanic who fixed your car and tell him to buy you some air freshners or you will snitch. DO NOT take the money to buy them. Now if you do not know the mechanic, then tell the dealer what has happened. I sent my Brand New Van in for some water leak problems. It comes back a week later with 550 extra miles on it. Some one took it out. I rammed the dealer and got a complete tune up, brake job, out of it. I always wonder if I could have got more. But I will never know. I think he had had problems befroe as he did not seem really surprised. So take it back.

I think the dealer deserves to know, Not fair to loose good customers because of an employees bad habit, I smoke but would not smoke in a customers car, especially if it's obvious that the car is not usually smoked in. It's a respect thing.

As long as they did the work right chill. At least they didnt smoke a pound of pot in you're car. Now if the work isnt performed to spec; then call & complain about it & THEN tell them about the smokey smell.
