Just keep looking for anything that goes right... find the silver lining and count your blessings.
I was always a very depressed, melancholic, cynical, pessimistic person from abuse suffered during childhood. I've been through different forms of therapy, read many books, and even minored in psychology. I've also tried a variety of antidepressant medications, with no success.
However, in my 30s, I learned (mostly from observing those people whose character I admired) to be thankful for the little things (like a green light when I'm in a hurry) and to look for the good or the lesson learned in the bad things. I also learned to stop trying to control things which are uncontrollable (which is EVERYTHING but my own actions!).
This actually has helped me turn my outlook around and when I tell people who know me now all that I've been through and how negative I used to be, they are genuinely surprised.

It can be acutely painful. Sorrow will feel like, and can bring on depression, but itself isn't depression. If you're hurting because of a recent loss, then that will pass. Usually 6 months to 2 years for a major loss. If it's depression you're experiencing, then you should look into methods to deal with depression. There are many resources out there. Feel free to e-mail me if you want more feedback.

I hope this helps, even though you may not believe it, things always get better. Life can be hard sometimes, but it has to be so that we can learn and grow and appreciate when things are good. When things ARE good, you can know that you are proud of the memories you have of your strength when things were hard. Believe it or not, you will be prouder of yourself and your reactions when things were hard than of your times when things were easy.
You are the sum of your experiences, both difficult and easy. Enjoy the journey and live your life so that when you die, your eyes are haggard from experience, and your heart is tired from loving with all of your strength.
God bless.

Aim for something else! Leave what causes your despair and start over. Hope for something new! Good luck. It's never completely over until you have died. Only than there is no turning back.

Start your planning to get things going back up.
Take responsibility for the situation and get yourself out of it.
You'll feel great when you look back :-)
