they say that they do, but mine broke about six months ago, and no one has come to fix it!

I suppose there is a guarantee from the time you purchase a coffin to the time you place it in the ground or the furnace, but after that, it will decompose naturally, because of bacteria, moist, etcetera in the ground (not even going into the insects that destroy the coffin while you yourself are decomposing inside.

well this q brings up many more such as
who's lifetime does it guarantee the person who bought it or the person it is for cos i don't think you would buy your own coffin cos you're dead.
would the fact that it is a gift end the agreement?
how would you return it cos usually you got to take it back in perfect condition with a receipt.
hmmmmmmmmmm I've gotta think about this one.

Haha - no, they need a death-time guarantee. Nobody uses them when they're alive! They just need to last as long as the buried body is...well, existent? Or as long as the finicky family members are alive and they can check to see if the coffin is still intact (why they'd want to, I'll never understand!).
Interesting question...

some coffins are reusable. others are made of cardboard for easier cremation. i usually depends on the use of the coffin.

Sure, as long as you don't mess them up when you are decomposing in them. Ha!
