I hear it a lot. Sometimes too much. What would be another alternative to this word?

important, poignant, paramount, essential, cogent, compelling, convincing, denoting, eloquent, expressing, expressive, facund, forceful, heavy, important, indicative, knowing, meaning, momentous, powerful, pregnant, representative, rich, sententious, serious, sound, suggestive, symbolic, telling, valid, weighty

I think they say it so much because it's sort of a "buzzworrd" that is, it's cool for pundits to be saying this day in time. Who knows, tomorrow they might pick a new favorite!

Oh. I hadn't realized they liked 'significant.'

But Republicans act like they deserve a prize for knowing the words 'rhetoric' and 'propaganda.'

Pundits became bored with "important". How about: meaningful, compelling, convincing, consequential, or noteworthy?

they like it because they think that they are significant themselves but we know otherwise.
