I'm going to vote tornado--those hurricane housed down in Florida were flattened by a tornado.

Tornados just flattened some hurricane-proof houses in Florida today. How terrible!

Hurricane Mitch killed 11,000+ people.

A hurricane has more wind speed and does more damage, but a tornado can come up suddenly. You don't always get a lot of advanced warning, like with hurricanes. So, I'd say a tornado is "worse" for that reason.

A hurricane can cause more damage than a tornado, and hurricanes are more of a world wide thing while tornados i believe are only big in some countries

In reality, a hurricane is simply a huge tornado. A catagory 5 hurricane is equivilant to an F5 tornado, but much, much larger. So the hurricane is worse.

Never been in a hurricane but I've been in two or three tornados. They're SCARY!!!! Plus tornados are faster, have more force, and you don't get much of a warning. You see the sky starting to turn green. That's your first hint. You don't have much time. It starts hailing and raining and lightning. It's awful.

We think a hurricane is more destructive because a tornado's usually dont last as long a huricanes and hurricanes wash out everything! But i guess both are very harmful. So they are both bad!
