Is it possible to add a Norton commando Mk3 A electric start primary and gear box to a 750?.

It is possible ,but why bother, if you can buy a complete 850 interstate with it already attached, i would say the cost could outweigh the benefits ,as the starters weren't that good anyway, without extensive mods.

Actually, some one very recently did post this question. I believe the general consensus is that its possible but would be a big and expensive project. Not only would you need the starter motor, but both inner and outer primary covers, starter clutch assembly, starter relay, switch button, and related wiring. It also just occurred to me that the drive end of the crankshaft may well be different 750 to 850MKIII due to the starter clutch. In the end you would probably have been better off selling the 750 and buying a MKIII. At least check out Jerry's forum, there are thousands of old postings there containing a wealth of Norton info.
