As a fellow Republican, I hope that I can safely say, without getting labeled as "bi polar" myself, that these "liberals" do have their own set of values. Just because they don't have the same code and beliefs as you, doesn't make their opinions any less legitimate than your own. To them, conservatives are the ones who can never seem to change their minds, even when the situation calls for it!
So please, no more stereotyping, on either side. Liberals bashing this honest question over the head aren't helping anything, only reinforcing negative beliefs.
Everyone sees the world differently according to their own principles and beliefs. Few people ever act without a standard basis of beliefs that they follow, whether conservative, moderate, or liberal. Just because your belief is your own as you see it, doesn't make it any more right or legitimate.

Very thoughtful question. Once you figure this one out, I have an equally valid one for you to ponder: are conservatives merely demon possessed, or are they really the spawn of Satan?
