Does anyone else think that Tyra inadvertently contributed to the criticism she is now receiving for her weight gain? Being a tiny supermodel for years, I think she used to be part of the problem with the public misconception of how women are supposed to look. Now she wants to be accepted as "hot" for the way she looks after gaining weight. Not saying she doesn't, but I think she created the problem herself.

I agree, but I think that she looks much healthier now. When you are in an industry that glorifies malnutrition, you should be ready for some criticism when you start to eat like a normal human being.

I don't think she asked for it no. She is just out there living her life. And yeah, she's a target because she used to be a super model. People think she's going to remain the same size she was when she was modeling. The thing is, she wasn't rail thin when she was modeling. Which was nice to see. The girl has hips, thighs, and a butt! She's not a stick with fake boobs walking the runway. The media drives me crazy with that stuff. Why is it that they feel the need to comment on every pound a celebrity gains or loses? I understand the reporting on like Nicole Ritchie. The girl was just unhealthy. But come on...Halle Berry being pregnant because she's got a little belly? Or even Reese Witherspoon. The both of them are skinny. Why do they have to show everyone when they are having what I like to call a "fat day"?

I'm a straight female and i think Tyra is Hoottt with or without the weight. She was never an extremely skinny model, she was always rocking a little bit of flesh on her bones. She is my role model because she wasn't the skinniest but still worked the runway.

I'm sick of celebrities whining about nothing problems. She is complaining about people taking her photo when she wasn't posing? Is that the biggest problem in her life? Why not put her time towards helping the countries devastated by the tsunami or the cities ruined by Hurricane Katrina?

She's ranting about how people isn't accepting her because she's gained a little weight? She should be ashamed and embarassed that that's the biggest problem in her life.

i was acctually watchin her show the other morn and she was addressin the issue of ppl sayin she gain like 60lbs and hse claimed that she only gained about 10-20 from holiday foods.
i personally think this is a good influence on current models and women(and men i guess) across the globe who feel that they need to be ultrs thin to fit 'the scene'. With a worldwide figue known around the world gainin weight and sayin that she feels beautiful still, that takes courage and tells her viewers and supporters that they can feel the same.
i could go on all day, but time is runnin away.

I think most of those models are nasty skinny anyway and most men are not into those twigs. Tyra is a bit of a flake, but I hope that she gets just as much attention for being a larger weight, as she did when she was so skinny. We need those role models for the women and young girls that look up to these fashion icons.

i see your point. i do appricated trya for trying to get across that u dont have to be super skinny, even if thats what she used to be, i think now she is a good role model. but yes she did bring it on her self in a way. but when you look at it, she may not have realised all this if she hadn't been skinny at one point.

She was doing her job and now she is retired now free to be her self plus she has been spreading the message that it is a crazy thing to have females killing themselves to be skinny......who said that she is to late to have a change of heart anyway
