Well, first of all, debates are not an emotional thing in school. Its purely research and how well you can deliever it. Look for more statistics. You know what you have right now, so go look for more. If you find one or two good points, the other team won't know how to relatiate. Remember, try to anticipate their aguments and find something effective for a rebuttal.

im good with debates, i have done this one before too, what i said was that Animal testing is bad to an extent, if they are testing on animals that cant reproduce fast, monkeys is not a good idea, but rats are fine in my oppinion, they reproduce fast, but the bad thing is rats are not even close to the dna of a human being so in some way they do kinda have to test on monkeys, but sometimes the scientist can figure out what it does to the human body i dont know how but they can, so comparing pros to cons i say that you can do animal testing only if it is on an animal that reproduces quikily.

One of the so-called "cons" I often hear is that a lot of the testing is unecessary ... because it has already been done. The labs need to share more research information.

If I were you I'd check PETA as a source of information and do a search to see if there are references on their website to any news articles on this topic. World Wildlife Fund is another source and so is The National Humane Society.

Good luck with your debate! :-)

Why don't you give a real dramatized and visual example of what it would be like if they were getting all these tests. Show nasty pictures of animals being tested. Anything that can cause a big SHOCK reaction from your audience. The thing about animal testing is that you want your audience to FEEL the animals pain and FEEL for the animals wellbeing. I would compare animal testing to plain old animal abuse and compare the testers to smart animal abusers that should be put in jail just like the rest of those bastards that you see being put in jail on Animal Planet !

maybe u could bring in a few models of animal bodies after theyve been hurt. u can make a video presentation along side with ur pics and report... maybe u could interview someone with expereience about animal testing. a worker maybe? research PETA and show examples of other alternatives . like introduce products and clothes that dont harm animals. hope i helped.

You know I think you are in for a bad time. I am absolutely pro animal testing. I cannot think of anything other then EMOTIONAL issues for the con side. But look if hooking a cat up to 120 volts is going to save my life someday. I only have one thing to say.
The red terminal is positive and the black terminal is negative.

Turn them in, they are cheaters. You could turn it around and use pictures of their pets as examples as why not to test on animals, instead of rats. They would make them second guess their strategy.
