Yes Yes Yes, we ALL KNOW Gore isn't running, yawn, but this is a thought experiment, so pretend he was.

I think it actually would be really close -- Gore must be feeling pretty smug these days about the global warming issue, plus he and "The Great Philanderer" have been out of office long enough that almost all is forgotten other than the Lewinsky thing which had nothing to do with him anyway -- more than anything the Dems just want a winner -- I'll give it to Hillary in a horse-race because I think a lot of people also really want a woman to take a run at the White House (too bad it has to be this one) and they'd feel a little guilty if they didn't back her

Al Gore is done in politics but doesn't want to accept it. How would you feel if your life's work had led to failure? His new project ( global warming ) has had some interest but how would you convince an intelligent person that all the other warming cycles throughout history were natural but now ,this one is man made, and disastrous? The earth can recover from anything we are likely to do.
Hillary on the other hand, is a much bigger threat. Did you ever buy a used car from a shyster salesman and then you get home and ask yourself, hell I didn't want this thing why did I buy it? Then you find you can't take it back. VOTE FOR HILLARY, and you can feel that way again.

Well there are other Democrats running...Senator Obama...Governor Richardson...

However, between Gore and Clinton, Clinton because she is still a politician...Gore is more of an environmental activist now. Also, he's a professor at some university. He has a lot going on. Hillary is more focused with politics.

Gore says he is not interested in running. Hillary's main competition is Barak Obama and John Edwards. There are some others but they don't have much chance.
