The book was best. BUT, the movie with Jack Nicholson was great too.

Books are generally better than the film because the story is much more "in-depth". However, Jack Nicholson is such a great actor, I would have to say this movie was one that was right up there on level with the book.

Both were great but it is very common for the book to be the better of the two especially when it comes to Stephen King he is very detailed when it comes to some of his more gore parts of his stories and well they are to severe for Hollywood to put on film. But still Jack Nicholson that had to be one of his parts in any of his films he played the perfect psycho. I love movies and books but when it comes down to it watching a movie is just more visually interesting. I love horror and well Stephen King will always be a master in this genre.

both are very good. I found the book more fantastic and the film more realistic. But both are enjoyable and one can read the book and watch the film or the other way round and enjoy both
