Why are you proud to be an American?

I'm proud and thankful to be an American, because I'm free to do pretty much whatever I want (vocationally, avocationally, etc.).
*Choose and/or change my profession.
*Got to college.
*Live where I want to.
*Worship where,how ,when, what, and why I want to (or choose not to worship).
I lived overseas for a little over ten years of my life (three separate times: child, teen, adult).
*Even though the people were cool, this is STILL the best country in the world.
Our political system works! (Look at what's happening on Capitol Hill, look at what individual governors/mayors are doing in spite of what's going on in Washington D.C., etc.).

because even though it has its own problems, IT IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE FINEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!!
Any of you cry babies that do not believe it, just go some where else for a while. you WILL quickly learn that the peaty problems we have here are nothing.
There are still countries in the world that would behead you cry babies for some of the disgraceful crap that gets spewed out about the country.
No other country in the world has the freedoms & riches (or chances to get them) than the good ole USA.
LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!!!!
NOW, dont get me wrong, there are some decent other countries, just none that I want to live in. I am not bad mouthing your country, the USA is MY home and the country that the rest of the free world turns to when they are in trouble of any kind. Big earthquake, call the US for help. Volcano, call the US. sumani, call the US. Terrorist attacks, the US is there to help.
Why is that if the rest of the world is so great and better than the US?

It is a great nation, and it is my homeland! I would hope that everyone in the world is proud of their home country. Every country has its good qualities and its bad ones.

Because I am!! We live in a great nation. But, the only person is not proud to be a american is Presdent Bush.

Despite all the problems we have (domestic and international) it's still the best country to live in.
