I'm going out of town this weekend, and I just started my period! Can I make it stop by taking the active pills again?

it will not stop it immediately.. unfortunately you should have skipped the period completely by taking week one on week four..... once the period has started its hard to stop.. but if you start now within 48 hours the bleeding will slow down or stop....it will not hurt you just keep following your birth control cycle...

It's the same principle of the Seasonale, the 3 month continuous pill. I take it for three months straight (all active pills) and after the 3rd month you take the inactive and have a period. It's perfectly safe. When you're on the pill you're not ovulating so it's the lack of hormones in the inactive pills that force a period. I think you're fine but if you're really unsure, call your dr.
