I forgot what they are called so forgive me for calling it a sex house. But is'nt that kind of Racist to only let men of one race inside those places?

If it were named "sex houses", there wouldn't be too many question as to what they do inside. As opposed to soapland (ソープランド) and Health (ヘルス) which is the correct and rather ambiguious names. For good reason I'm sure.

I guess the reason has alot to do with Japanese culture. They are always apprehensive toward the "unknown" or "the different".

Also, I guess from the owners point of view if a Japanese client started trouble they can rest assured most of the trouble-makers will behave if a local Yakuza member walked in and straightened him out with a threat or two. (usually these places are protected by, if not run, by the Yakuza.)

But let's say a group of drunk US marines started some trouble at a sex house.
1. They maynot understand Japanese so threats will probably be useless unless the Yakuzas are bigger than they are. (Which DNA wise is very unlikely...)
2. Being a Yakuza probably doesn't mean much to a marine because well....they are afterall marines.
3. If a Yakuza got in serious trouble with a US marine (homicide, kidnapping etc) then it may turn into an international incident and I'm sure the police will crack down alot harder then.

So I don't think it's really personal that they're discriminating. They're just trying to protect their business.
But no I don't know this for a fact. it's just my guess.

Yes, it may be racist but who has to nerve to make a human rights case out of being turned away from a rub-club? Besides, there are plenty of joints of that nature that will take your money. Try a rainy Monday night and they may not be so fussy about their clientele as on a night when they have more business than they can handle. Or else hang out with a Japanese guy and have him "introduce" you to his favourite spot. They may very well make an exception for the friend of a regular.

The main reason some soaplands exclude non-Japanese is this: they know Japanese men will open up their wallets and pay what is asked, but they aren't so sure about some random gaijin. So they don't want some guy who can't speak Japanese in there asking for a discount or something like that. It's not as if brothel-keepers are great upholders of cultural purity or anything like that, it's all bout the money.

First, there is a mis-conception, both on the part of the owners and on the part of the girls, that Japanese men don't carry diseases while we foreigners are full of them. Next, while it may not be racist, it is at least elitist. There is a perception by many Japanese that they are better than non-Japanese. Another point might be that the girls just prefer "their own kind." Most of the Japanese women working in that industry do so of their own free will. They are there to make extera money, either to pay off debts or to buy "the finer things." Since they prefer Japanese men, for the reasons mentioned above and others, then that's who is allowed in. Also, Japanese men are less likely to cause trouble, and they all understand the Japanese language so it's easier to communicate.

It's not really racist. I know this club where they only allowed FULL american woman inside. And since im half american half japanese im not allowed to go.
Sometimes people like to be inside a room that is only there race...

To tell you the truth I have really no idea why theres clubs where only one race is allowed!!

Was also going to say what "eatmyworld" has. I have been to a few of them in Japan (when I lived there), and if you know someone at the door, or if you smile, then voila! They will let you in. I think the fascination was also that foreign GIRLS wanted to go inside, made it a bit better for us to go in.
