Even if you dont see them when you get your change back, you end up with worthless "slugs" that dont work in vending machines. What should you do about it besides give them back to to the teller if you spot them? What do the Canadiens do with U.S. coins? They are worth more, do they have a problem?

When handling change in Canada and the US everywhere except vending machines accept both Canadian and US coins. This is because most people don't want to examine every coin they receive.

With coins the value on the coin is accepted as the value in local currency, no foreign exchange place that I know of will give you an exchange on coins. Even if you have US$100 in quarters they are not going to give you the exchange because when you go to exchange currency you don't exchange for $400.39, they make you change into even dollars in the other currency.

One thing you can do is roll your coins and slip a couple Canadian coins in with the American if you really dislike them that much. This may be illegal (it may not) but no bank is really going to fret over $1 in coins even if they do notice the mixed currency.

Another way to ditch the coins is in "take a penny, leave a penny" dishes. If you see an American dime and you have a dime of Canadian currency, do a swap. The worst you'll get it a puzzling look from the person at the counter.

You're right Tim, I have been in a similar situation just like you, I have been tricked by a sneaky, pathetic trampy cashier before. Instead of giving me a U.S quarter as a chance, she gave a stupid Canadian coin.

My friend even got the worst case scenario, he got a token as a chance at the supermarket. He didn't realize that until he got home.

I know a quarter may not worth that much, but DAMN IT, I'M SICK & TIRE OF A RICH CORP TRYING TO SCAM THE HONEST HARD-WORKING CITIZENS JUST BY A FEW COINS & PRETENDING IT WAS A MISTAKE. Just because they're filthy rich, that doesn't mean they are above the law.

YES, THERE SHOULD BE A LAW TO PUNISH THOSE SICK, GREEDY, DECIEVING, FRAUDULENT, MONEY-HUNGER CORP.

If you're ever going to an activist on promoting legislation against fraudulent on using foreign money as "a return chance to a customers", I WILL BE THE FIRST PERSON TO VOTE FOR YOU & SUPPORT YOUR CAMPAIGN 100%.

No it shouldn't be a crime. In small amounts they have the same value and you just give them to a cashier next time you go to the store. In dollar amounts or more then they have to convert the money and that becomes a mess. Yeah it sucks with vending machines, and I can see their problem with them as to why they can't accept them. As I said they start to lose value as the number grows. What pisses me off is when I get them in the change machine. They shouldn't have Canadian quarters in Change Machines.

Here in Canada we accept both kinds of coins . They even work in our vending machines. Your money is worth a bit more than ours so personally I save all my American change for when I come shopping in the states.

In Canada, US coins are worth exactly the same as Canadian coins. Machines here also accept US coins with no problems.

A US quarter in Canada is worth a quarter....the only time when the exchange rate is applied is if you pay with a paper bill.

I know a secret that could topple goverments. My name is Jesus Christ and they tried to kill me here in Vancouver BC Canada. Luckily, I cut a deal with Satan and in doing so won this perverse game of world domination called The Illuminati.

You see it all began when the Nephilim arrived on earth. The 2nd batch of Angels to leave Heaven (or Aliens if you wish) and corrupted our minds and DNA by interbreeding with humans. This has been the cause of all the suffering, illness and war on earth.

And of course the Nephilim or Gregori or watchers if you will, the real fallen Angels, promised certain humans untold wealth in order that the Nephilim could return and inhabit their bloodline as hosts. The Nephilim of course are immortal and humans of course go to Heaven.

And back in the 1800's a plan was hatched between the Nephilim and the Illuminati (the wealthiest families of earth who control our resources, commodities, media and banks) to enslave the human Race.
And create perpetual Human wage slavery enforced by the laws of the puppet countries they uphold. (USA, England, Canada, EU, etc...) Oh, and one other thing to unite the world under the auspices of one religion based on the Angel of Light Lucifer.

Silly idea. Why, because the Nephilim lie and Satan/Lucifer has always acted in the interests of God (look it up it's true, First Testament stuff) and not the anyone else. Why, simple, Satan refuses to bow before anyone but God.

And this is what all this is about. Satan refuses to kneel before Sons of Clay (You,) refuses to kneel before Jesus (Your Saviour,) and most definetely refuses to kneel before any other Angel. So your screwed Illuminati because I don't support you.

And the Angels are MINE! They do what I say. And I say turn back to GOD. Or else I'll smote you. I've done it before and I'll do it again. And if you don't believe me just look at your weather. It's caused by a cruel, cruel sun.

Global warming is caused by the Suns tendency to swell as it burns fuel, loses mass, becomes lighter, loses it's gravitational attraction to it's gasses and swells. Hahaha. I've got you. And there ain't nobody but God that can help you out of this one.

So, congratulations you made it. Welcome to Hell! Now turn around and march backwards cuz I don't ******* want you.

But it's not all that bad. Humans get to be Humans again. Have a good time, try not to kill anybody while your here. You all get to go to Heaven. The Nephilim get to burn in Hell, which is good cause somebodies got to keep the Hellfires burning. And me and my band of Merry Hells Angels get to keep on going. Cool eh? Done and done. The Greatest Story Ever Told. Who would have thunk it? hahahA. lol.

Or, maybe I'm just a smart little cookie with an IQ that tops the top 5% worldwide that is getting terminally ****** over for it here. In America when you find an apple that shines so bright you pick it up for the whole world to see. In Canada you shove it so far down the barrel and hope it rots. **** You Vancouver. **** You.

Suffer my diabolical wrath as I make an example of you for the whole world to see.
