I have a very bad scar on my arms (it is raised up from the skin). It is starting to have a greenish discoloring around it. It is also very painful around the area. What could be the cause of this happening?

it could be starting to get infected again, i'd have a dr. look at it.

cutting was my problem and it still is. I don't really know why i'm trying to solve this for you when i can't solve this for myself. ive had some slips where i just cut and when i do, i feel better and like you once the time passes i feel like ****. i have many moments where i lose complete focus and i no longer can control myself. i've quit i guess since its not something i do 3x a day anymore but at random i mess up. ive started a new thing which is having rubberbands on my wrist which i snap when things go bad it gives a sharp pain since i get the ones with metal and i snap it over my vein but its not quite the same. however it relaxes me. i used to play softball before i ever began so lately ive been going to the batting cages the venting of the anger calms my mind no matter how bad i am even if for a minute and that helps me keep control that much longer. from there i start to relax and try to make myself feel better through yoga or holding ice till i don't feel like i have to cut. the only thing i can help you with though is this, you don't have to be me and face it alone. i cut for 2 years my parents, friends, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, teachers, etc were none the wiser because i always made sure to fool them. i smiled laughed talked and got straight a's. fooling them helped me fool myself and not cut desperately. but it hurt so much more because i just felt so alone. so feel free to email me. i don't want you to go down that road alone. a stupid just turned 16 girl who doesn't want another person to be as ****** up as herself

you might want to see what put the scar there because you might allergic to it.It IS most likely infected you defiantly need to go to the doctor right away if it raises up from the skin.
