Okay, I really like this guy, and he is my techncally my boyfriend. I havn't told anyone, just him and I know. Well, what I am trying to say is, I want to tell all my friends, but he is not that cute, so I am afraid my friends will make fun of me and tell the "popular" girls. I don't like him for his looks, he is nice and funny and sweet. i really really want to tell my friends but i KNOW that they will make fun of me and say, "EWWWW" but i do really like him. His name is Daniel. Please give me some advice!!! THNX!!

If you really like Daniel and for the good reasons you listed in your question on line, then why does it matter that your friends don't like him? Don't let your friends dictate your life for you in any way, but especially in the ways of love and happiness. This guy might not be all that on the outside but a man worth his weight in gold on the inside, like many others who got passed over because of some really shallow people who didn't care enough to check in to someones real personality. A good person, or even a good mate, comes in many different looking packages, some pretty, some maybe not so pretty, but true beauty comes from the heart and soul of any person. The social norm of what our peers think of someone we might choose to be with romantically, really is anti-social. Chances are, those friends of yours will be jealous of the wonderful way this not so cute guy treats you. I bet then they will all want to have a guy just like him too. And then beware!!! Your so called friends might just try to take Daniel away from you and you'll find out just what friends they were all along.

Here is my advice,
Do you have one of your friends that is pretty much your BEST friend. Someone that you know you can trust and will support you. Because these girls aren't your 'friends' if they will make fun of someone you like. So if I were you, I would make sure that I have the complete trust of someone. And if they do tell - who cares? He's just a boy and theres no need to worry about what the 'popular girls' think.

If he is so nice and treats you the way you need to be treated then who cares what your friends think. Its your life, and you need to be happy with your decision. Don't worry about everyone else worry about you and what you need. The teasing wont matter if you are really happy. Take care Heather

I think you already know the answer. If your friends make fun of you, are they really your friends? You shouldn't be ashamed of your boyfriend. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the world!

if u dont think he is worth dating, then just drop him. and its just high school, it love probably wont last. it probably wont mean anything when u look back on that situation. BUT, dats your man and u shouldnt worry what other people think about him. and dont worry about those "popular girls" because its not their life ur messing with they need to get a life of their own and stop worrying about u.

lol..thats kinda paradoxical...but nvm....its very simple...u love him...tell them...if u dont, what the hec are u doin with him?
plus if u think ur frnds will make fun of u n him?...does that mean they dont respect ur choice, or u dont have a strong personality to keep them from sayin crap...

Tell your friends they're jerks and they should be lucky to find someone that actually makes them happy.
You're way beyond them for seeing past looks and dating someone that you actually get along with.

just tell them to **** off because hes YOUR boyfriend and you really like him. hes a great guy and if your friends cant see past his looks then maybe they arent the best friends.
