I've got a bug in my pc, dam the luck. It has erased my color settings of 64 and 256 and left with 4 bits?

All i can run is 4 bit color and it really stinks so please help. Also my lovely internet explorer wants to crash all the time

Your first issue will be solved by reinstalling the video driver. The other one can't help you unless you give more details. Still you can try the alternatives to IE.

Does not sound like a bug. Sounds like you are missing the video driver for your video card. So to the manufacturer's web site and download and reinstall the video driver. You will get the colors back.
