Leanne (below) - You figured it out. I cannot deny it. I detest every fiber that constitutes the flesh of Bush and Cheney.

It is not my goal to convert a single soul. I merely shed light on the obvious criminal misgivings perpetrated by these lame excuses for a president and VP.

They underestimated the power the militias would have over Iraqis.

When the invasion first began they were running into these pockets of insurgents. Instead of nipping it in the bud, they told the soldiers to move on.

Underestimating the voracity of the militias was their huge mistake.

The mindset that military might will overpower the will or ideas of certain people is often a mistake. Will always prevails. Resistance is a strong motivator.

Chi Guy - you've apparently really have a problem with Bush - get over it.

If you were to put as much effort into actually trying to solve some of the concerns facing our nation your questions might win you a few converts - as it is, your Bush bashing is really old hat and the only positive responses you'll get are from people already demented with hatred and are already on your side.

Do you really need the reassurance that much?

It was Donald Rumfeld's plan to send only a minute amount of troops and it obviously was a mistake. Bush was not the idiot. Now Bush wants to send more to get the job done but sill many oppose him.

Simple, he didn't treat it like a war. Most of the militant groups live in specific areas - all you need to do is cut the water supply and power to those areas, surround them and then allow the people to come out unarmed and then torch the villages, then go in and destroy any ammo that wasn't destroyed in the fire.

Either you're willing to do that or you don't go to war.

Once the President has decided to go to war, it's not a war crime for his generals to do that.

This is not a war, it is a police action. Had this been an actual
war we would have killed everything that walked, talked or
crawled. taken the land and resources, planted our flag, and
called it a day!

I don't remember losing any war. Last time I checked, for every American causualty, our fighting troops dish out over 200 to the insurgents.
