Not at all. I think maybe in the sixties when people in this country were still experiencing rationing etc there was an element of not exactly jealousy but admiration for the standard of living etc. I don't think any British people would be envious of Americans now, there's so much wrong with your society etc. You have isolated yourselves so much and shown blatant disregard for the rest of the world, the environment, the people of New Orleans (shame on you), your lack of military ability/prowess, the appalling way you treated your indigenous peoples, your obesity problem, and your President (I mean how embarassing to have elected that idiot). No, you have nothing for us to envy only all that is cheap and tatty in society. And when you spread yourselves around the world all you do is take - you haven't done any rebuilding in Iraq. Rebuilding to the USA means robbing the country then allowing loads of American companies in to rob them some more, then opening loads of fast food outlets and then leaving (and hopefully the people will be able to put their country back together in 20 years or more). As a British person I am ashamed of the relationship we have with the USA as the Worlds biggest bully and deeply ashamed of Tony Blair's pledge that we would stand shoulder to shoulder with the USA - well not in my name. We should leave you to lose your wars on your own. And before you mention WW2 - the only reason you entered was pearl Harbour so don't make out it was for our benefit.

Are we jealous of them? One would have to take a poll of Brits and Americans alike, to see who is jealous of who. That can't be determined by a question posed to anyone and everyone over the internet.

We Yanks love the Brits. Jealous... heck no, I don't think so. heck... they aren't like the whiney French. Brits have backbone... I doubt they are jealous of anyone. Right now I wish I was in one of their pubs , throwing down some ale, and singing whatever the hell they like to sing about. Any Yanks with me ?Let's go !

what is there to be jealous of? no sense of irony or humour, a trigger happy war mongering president (we have that in common), trailer trash, false, have a nice day now!, nation of greedy fatties ...........jealous? I don't think so but thanks for asking.
